BWS produces precision and service strips on specialized slitting lines. In the narrow strip range already from 2.00 mm, maximum strip widths up to 680.00 mm are possible. High tensile strength levels and compliance with the tightest width tolerances are just as feasible as slitting thin strip with strip thicknesses from 0.03 mm. Integrated straightening lines optimize flatness and ring bend. With edge trimming and rolling facilities, BWS is a leader in the sector of edge trimming. BWS supplies single coils as standard. To optimize handling at the customer’s site, spools, pack winding or the packaging type multi-ring bars are also possible.
Slitting
At the BWS ServiceCenter, strips of stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, titanium and high-carbon steels are slit to customers’ requested widths. Specialized slitting lines realize extremely narrow dimensions, e.g. 0.20 mm x 2.00 mm or 3.00 mm x 10.00 mm with tensile strengths up to 2400 MPa. Maximum strip widths of up to 680.00 mm are possible. Strip thicknesses from 0.03 mm up to 4.50 mm can be processed.
Highest cutting precision is a prerequisite for tightest width tolerances from 0.03 mm, tensile strengths up to 2400 MPa and minimal cutting burr. Low saber and minimal ring bend are guaranteed by a high-performance in-line straightening unit.
Outer coil diameters of up to 2000 mm can be produced, even with extremely thin strip widths. Large run lengths reduce the effort for setup on the customer’s side and increases the cost-effectiveness.
Edge trimming
If special requirements are placed on low susceptibility to cracking and breaking or with regard to the further processability of the strip, for example by bending or welding, or if special requirements are placed on safety during further processing, a slit edge low-burr is not sufficient.
As a specialist in edge trimming, BWS processes strips made of stainless steel, nickel-based alloys and high-carbon carbon steels. On request, the processing of titanium strip is also possible.
Depending on the material, the ServiceCenter can produce any edge design with the tightest tolerances by rounding off, pressing on or rolling on.
BWS produces edge geometries in right-angled, sharp-edged and rounded designs and special edges according to customer requirements.

The strip supplied by BWS must not only run optimally through the customer’s processing machines, but also needs to fit precisely into the customer’s respective operational logistics on the way there. Therefore, in addition to single coils for the optimization of the customer’s handling, BWS also offers spools, package winding, the packaging type multi-ring bars as well as bars and boards.
