Sustainability
At the Paris Climate Change Conference in December 2015, 195 countries agreed to slow down global warming and limit the rise in the global average temperature to below two degrees Celsius. In June 2021, the German Federal Parliament passed the new Federal Climate Protection Act (KSG), which aims to achieve greenhouse gas neutrality in Germany by 2045. In view of this decarbonization, the world is facing major challenges that we as a company, but also as an industry as a whole, want to master. BWS therefore sees it as its own responsibility to future generations to take on this task for society as a whole. We are therefore striving to exceed the German targets as long as the necessary infrastructure in Germany will continue to be developed.
BWS works in a resource-efficient manner in order to reduce its own carbon footprint and achieve energy savings. To this end, we invest sustainably in our processes, not least so that we can report the carbon footprint of each product version in the future.
An essential part of the company’s success is its sustainable business model. BWS relies on the consistent and continuous further development of existing resources in order to develop innovative and long-term solutions together with and for our customers. BWS manufactures thin and high-strength steel strip from sustainable materials, thereby conserving resources both in the directly manufactured products through lower weight and in subsequent energy consumption. Our high-performance materials are used in a wide range of environmental technology applications, such as mobility solutions or industrial applications for the energy transition.
